Job Description

The Assistant Controller position is a hands-on position which requires actively participating in budgeting and labor and food cost analysis to provide the operations team with guidance to manage the campus’ key performance metrics. The Assistant Controller will work directly with the Unit Controller to enforce financial procedures through analysis, auditing, operational targets, and internal control of inventories, cash, and equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze daily, weekly, & monthly data
• Collaborate with campus leadership team in budget process, managing operational metrics, identifying opportunities, and developing action plans to drive efficiencies
• Responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial and operating reports
• Prepare special purpose or ad hoc analyses as required
• Assist on-site clerks with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll responsibilities
• Train and develop accounting and operations teams on financial acumen and policies
• Support and assist in the strategic planning process and annual business plan
• Maintain all financial records and reports in adherence with Aramark’s Business Conduct Policy and all local, state, and federal regulations and codes
• Perform other related duties as directed by Unit Controller and District Manager
• Some nights and/or weekends supporting operations may be required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related subject
• Proficiency in Excel required
• Financial experience including AP/AR, payroll, and P&L management
• Ability to work closely with a team in budgeting, cost controls and monthly reporting is critical.
• Adhering to generally accepted accounting practices and observing all financial controls and processes is required.
• Individual must be organized, demonstrate initiative, have strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt when priorities change
• Strong organizational skills including prioritization of workload with minimal supervision
