Gift Shop Coordinator - Fayette Medical Center

  1. Responsible for overall operations of Fayette Medical Center gift shop; buying, receiving, stocking, pricing, displaying, daily balancing of cash registers, payment of bills and inventory, and maintain positive growth in profit. 
  2. Responsible for maintaining organized stock room, ensuring merchandise is delivered to the gift shop in a timely manner. Communicates with vendors concerning damaged items and ensures invoices are correct.
  3. Prepare payroll deduction reports biweekly and split payments, and payroll management of volunteer auxiliary fundraisers, and vendor/Auxiliary payments. 
  4. Coordinate annual inventory process.
  5. Attend gift/apparel/general merchandise markets as needed, meet with vendor representatives through   appointments for purchasing, manage inventory, and ensure gift shop is clean and stocked appropriately at all times.
  6. Ensure all gift shop account deposits are verified by an independent 3rd party and reports and discrepancies to Director.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
 
High School diploma or equivalent is required. College degree and previous retail experience preferred.  Minimum typing skills of 20 wpm required. Good manual and finger dexterity. Good working knowledge of computer and keyboard operations and general office equipment. Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office – basic Word and Excel skills required. Requires basic bookkeeping and familiar cash register sales, cash handling and reporting. Good written and verbal communication, good organizational skills. Must detailed oriented. Must be comfortable working with multi-generations and the public. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
 
Working Conditions
 
M-Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force
frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible. Comes in contact with others, coordinates and leads others, deals with external customers, uses electronic mail and telephone, types letters and memos, participates in face to face discussions, works with groups or team, makes presentations to large groups, responsible for outcomes and results.  Physical presence onsite is essential.  Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
